The Parent and Grandparent Program, or PGP, allows Canadian citizens and permanent residents to sponsor their parent(s) or grandparent(s) under Canada's Family Class immigration category. Sponsored parents and grandparents become permanent residents of Canada with all associated privileges. These include the right to live and work in Canada without regard to place, time, or industry, as well as the right to publicly funded healthcare and other services. Sponsored parents and grandparents may eventually become Canadian citizens.
there are two steps involved in parents and grandparents application:
You may submit both the sponsorship and the PR applications online at a time. You must be either a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident of Canada to sponsor your parents or grandparents to Canada and meet particular income requirements to support them or their dependents financially.
The province of Quebec has additional formalities for the PGP, and the residents of the region must sign a contract that binds the sponsorship.
