Ontario is the most preferred destination for immigrants from all around the world.
As the most populous province in Canada, Ontario is home to approximately 40% of all Canadians. Ontario is also home to Canada's capital city, Ottawa, as well as the country's largest metropolis, Toronto. In many respects, Ontario is the economic, social, and political heart of Canada. By far the most popular destination for newcomers to Canada is Ontario. Every year, the province accepts one-third of all newcomers. People opted to settle in Ontario because of the abundance of work possibilities, high income, and diverse population. In reality, more than half of Toronto's residents were born outside of Canada.
The Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program replaces Ontario's Provincial Nominee Program (OINP).
Prospective immigrants with the skills and expertise sought by the province may be eligible for a provincial nomination under this programme, following which they can apply for Canadian permanent residence with Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).
If you want to immigrate to Ontario, you can do it in one of three ways:
Skilled employees, French-speaking skilled workers, and tradespeople fall within the purview of the Human Capital Category. It is also open to international grads with a Master's or PhD from an Ontario university. There is no need to have a job offer to apply through this category.
Candidates in the Employer Job Offer Category have an eligible job offer in Ontario from an employer who is ready to nominate them.
The Human Capital Category is divided into two sub-categories. One example is Ontario Express Entry. The programs in this stream are improved. This signifies they are connected to the Express Entry system.
The Human Capital Category includes the following programmes: Ontario Express Entry sub-stream:
Human Capital Priorities: This category comprises the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP) and the Canadian Experience Class (CEC).
Skilled Trades: Individuals having relevant Ontario work experience in an appropriate trade occupation are eligible for this program.
French-Speaking Skilled Worker: This initiative, like Human Capital Priorities, is administered through FSWP and CEC. Candidates for French-Speaking Skilled Worker must be fluent in both French and English.
You will be contacted if you are nominated through Ontario Express Entry. The candidate will next have the option of accepting or declining the nomination. Accepting the nomination earns you an additional 600 CRS points. This means you'll get an Invitation to Apply (ITA) in the next all-program Express Entry draw.
The Human Capital Category: International Graduates sub-stream includes the following programmes. They are not in agreement with Express Entry. A candidate must build a profile and submit an expression of interest (EOI):
Master's Graduate Stream: For those with Master's degrees from an Ontario university.
Ph.D. Graduate Stream: For those who have earned a Ph.D. from an Ontario university.
The Employer Job Offer Category includes the following three programmes:
Foreign worker stream: for skilled employees.
International students: recent graduates of Ontario post-secondary institutions,
In-demand skill stream: for intermediate skilled workers in industries such as agriculture, construction, haulage, and personal care.
The Regional Immigration Pilot is a subcategory of the Employer Job Offer Category. The pilot programme assists Ontario in attracting and retaining immigrants to rural and small areas in order to fill labour shortages. It also contributes to the economic growth of these areas.
This pilot is for those who have a job offer from a pilot community employer. There are 150 nomination slots available in Ontario for 2021.
The Ontario Regional Immigration Pilot consists of three pilot communities:
Get a full-time, permanent job offer from an employer in one of the pilot communities;
Meet the eligibility requirements for one of the Employer Job Offer streams.
To apply for the pilot, you must first submit an Expression of Interest (EOI). When you do this, you will be asked if you want to apply through the Regional Immigration Pilot.
